9 weeks old!

My sweet baby girl is 9 weeks old! She had a doctor's appointment last week, and she is perfect! She is developing and growing so well! She did have to have shots, though. It was awful, but I'm sure it was harder on me than it was on her. We cried together, and as soon as I could hold her she calmed right down and slept. She slept the whole day! She did have a little bit of a fever and was a little fussy the next day, but she is back to her happy self now! I really wanted to put down some things I want to remember about her at this age, so here goes:

-She can hold her head up very well for a long time.

-She loves to sit up on my lap and look around at everything, especially the t.v., lamp, and blinds when there is light coming through them.

-She smiles a lot!

-She has really started cooing at us, and it's so adorable.

-She mimics certain things we do with our mouths.

-She loves it when I kiss her feet and put them on my face.

-She can roll onto her side from her back.

-She is very cuddly! When she is sleepy, she will lay on my chest with her cheek on my cheek until she falls asleep.

-She is a sleep fighter! The pacifier works wonders for getting her to sleep.

-She is sleeping through the night! She sleeps from about 10 to 5, sometimes longer.

-She is 13.5 lbs. and 22.5 in. long.

That's all I can think of for now. Ava is the sweetest baby ever, and I couldn't be more in love with her.

Life in the past 6 weeks...

We have had so much going on in the last 6 weeks. Ava is changing everyday! She has started staying awake more and being more interactive. She follows voices, reaches for things around her, and smiles really big! We are so in love with her and are enjoying watching her grow!

I have been having a few medical problems lately and had to have my gallbladder taken out. It was my first time to be put under, so I was nervous. It all went well, and hopefully I'll be back to normal soon.
Two of my very best friends, Ashley and Christie, came to visit us and meet Ava. It was such a good weekend, and I can't wait to have another one with them. Ava loves them already, I'm sure.

This past weekend we went to Jake's graduation at Harding. Ava did great in the car! She slept most of the time. She only woke up to tell us she was hungry, so we stopped and fed her and she went right back to sleep!

We came back Saturday so I could spend my first Mother's Day with my daughter and mom. We went to church, to eat, and then mom and I went shopping! Matt and Ava got me the sweetest card and two new shirts that I am so excited about. I had to wear the same clothes for a long time while I was pregnant, and it feels really good to be able to buy regular clothes again. My first Mother's Day was perfect! I absolutely love being a mommy to the sweetest baby ever. She has brought so much joy to my life, and I know there is only more to come.

This is when she really started smiling at us. We have yet to really be able to catch it on camera, but I'll continue to try until I get one. She has such a beautiful smile!

These two are probably my oldest friends! I love them so much, and really can't wait to see them again!

Ava kept putting her arm like that when Christie would hold her. It was too cute not to get a picture.

Daddy holding Ava at Jake's graduation. She was so cozy!

Uncle Jake, the graduate, holding his neice! We are all so proud of him!

Ava had to have a picture with her Aunt Tasha! She looks so big here!

This is our Mother's Day picture! I love this baby so much! (Notice the spit up on my sleeve!)

Both of these pictures were too sweet, so I had to post both. Ava loves her Grammy so much!

I love my mom so much! She's the best!

She is getting so big! This outfit's size is 3 months!

This is where Ava always is if Pawpaw is around. She's sort of smiling here, but he can also make her smile really big. She loves him too!

I just love every picture of Matt and Ava, so they will probably all be posted. He's such a great daddy!
