Fall (so far)

It's been too long since I've updated this blog! This fall we have seen family, been to Jonesboro, been to Silver Dollar City, trick-or-treated at Daddy's work, grown, and enjoyed being a family!

Ava is getting so big, but she's not the only one! Her cousins are growing up with her. Here are some of my favorite pictures from this fall so far:

Ava decided to try out her new winter hat, and she likes it!

Mollie is wide awake and ready to play!

Of course these two have to have a matching outfit or two!

This is one of the only pictures I was able to get of Landon. This is one busy boy!

Here's Ava on one of her favorite seats...Pawpaw!

It was really hard to get a picture of Ava looking at the camera with Jackson; she loves to watch him and thinks he is so funny!

Ava's getting some Grammy lovins' in Jonesboro.

Here's our little flower at Halloween! (Thanks, Grammy, for making her costume! It really was perfect.)

Ava and her proud Daddy at his work!

Some of Ava's new tricks:

- She started crawling at 6 months and has really mastered it! She goes everywhere and is in to everything.

-She just started pulling up and is so excited about it! She loves to stand and even stands in her crib now.

-She will try and mimic any sound you are making.

-She can "click" now.

-She babbles all day, and it's so sweet!

-She isn't very smiley at night usually, but is very happy until then.

-She doesn't get fussy very much at all. In fact, she really doesn't cry very much or very long.

-She loves to play with feet, shoes, or shoe laces.

-She chews on everything!

-She still loves to eat her baby food and doesn't really like anything else too much.

-She gets really excited to see babies and children, especially her cousins. She laughs and laughs at whatever Mollie is doing even if she's crying.

Ava is growing up so fast, we have enjoyed every second, and look forward to the future with her!

5 months old

My baby is 5 months old! I just can't believe it. Seeing our new niece Mollie made me realize just how much Ava has grown. I almost forgot how small she was when she was born. It makes me a little sad that she is growing up, but I feel so blessed to be the one to be there every step of the way for her. Ava and Mollie are 5 months apart, and we are so excited that she has someone to grow up with. They are going to be best friends! Ava is so precious to us, and we can't even remember what it was like before she was here. We don't even want to remember. We love her so much and just can't get enough of our little girl!

I thought I would share some of Ava's newest professional pictures.......

I had to post this one. She has the most irresistible cry and pouty face I have ever seen.

This one is Daddy and Grammy's favorite.
Here are some of Ava's newest developments:
- She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth.
- She can sit up on her own now.
-She can get to any toy that is out of her reach by "inching" her way there. She gets on her hands and knees and falls flat moving herself a little closer. She does this until she gets there and looks like an inch worm. We love watching her do this.
-She loves to eat baby food! The only thing she doesn't like is sweet peas and really lets you know it!
-She growls back at us when we growl at her. This gets a smile out of her everytime!
-She still won't smile for the camera. I have tried and tried, but she won't have it.
-She is still cuddly and loves to be held and kissed.
-She grabs for everything!
-She loves the remote control. She smiles and talks to it.
-She chews of everything you let her put in her mouth.

Mollie Anne!

Mollie Anne made her arrival September 2nd at 10:08 am. She weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. and is 20.5 in. long. She is so perfect and makes the sweetest little noises!

Isn't she beautiful? Look at all that hair!!

Her Daddy loves her so much!

Here's the new family! They aren't very proud....ha!

We couldn't be more happy for Adam and Julie! She's the perfect new addition, and it will be such a joy to watch her grow.

4 months old!

Our little Ava is 4 months old today! She is such a joy! The last 4 months have been the happiest ever and have really flown by. Here's an update on how our little one has changed:

-She has finally laughed! She hasn't done it very much, but it is laughing more and more. It is the sweetest sound in the world.
-She can roll over from her front to her back very well. She is a pro.
-She loves her jumperoo and has mastered jumping and turning to the other toys.
-She still sleeps very well, but is starting to wake up more due to rolling over.
-She looks at us and talks all the time now.
-She "sings" herself to sleep while I'm rocking her and singing to her. We love this.
-She has started eating a little cereal off a spoon. She doesn't really know what to think about it yet, but it is slowly going better.
-She reaches for everything including toys, hands, faces, glasses, etc.
-She loves to chew on anything she can get into her mouth! I think she may be teething a little.
-She loves to sit up and stand up on us while we hold her.
She is really developing, and her sweet personality is showing more and more!

This is the best smiling picture anyone has been able to get yet! She will be really smiling until she sees the camera!

This is her 4th of July outfit! We didn't do fireworks this year but are looking forward to them next summer.
Ava has been swimming a couple of times now. She is unsure at first, but once she gets used to the water she kicks and kicks.
We have been really busy this summer with visiting Grammy and Pawpaw, playing with Landon and Jackson when they were here for a week, going to Jonesboro a couple of times, and Ava spent a whole weekend with her Granna and Pops.
I have been to 2 showers for Miss Mollie (Ava went to 1). We loved seeing all of her goodies and are so excited to have Ava and Mollie so close in age. They are going to love that! We are anxiously awaiting her arrival in September! YAY! Not too much time left...
Matt and I also went to Tunnica, Mississippi for almost a week to celebrate our anniversary. It was a lot of fun, minus the car breaking down, getting it fixed, and missing Ava. We were so ready to get home to see her, but she had a good time at Grammy and Pawpaw's. She was happy to see, though! Maybe next summer she will be big enough to enjoy a vacation with us!
I guess that pretty much sums up what we have been up to this summer. Everyday is so much fun with Ava. She is growing up so fast, and we are so blessed to have her and watch her grow! Life is good!

9 weeks old!

My sweet baby girl is 9 weeks old! She had a doctor's appointment last week, and she is perfect! She is developing and growing so well! She did have to have shots, though. It was awful, but I'm sure it was harder on me than it was on her. We cried together, and as soon as I could hold her she calmed right down and slept. She slept the whole day! She did have a little bit of a fever and was a little fussy the next day, but she is back to her happy self now! I really wanted to put down some things I want to remember about her at this age, so here goes:

-She can hold her head up very well for a long time.

-She loves to sit up on my lap and look around at everything, especially the t.v., lamp, and blinds when there is light coming through them.

-She smiles a lot!

-She has really started cooing at us, and it's so adorable.

-She mimics certain things we do with our mouths.

-She loves it when I kiss her feet and put them on my face.

-She can roll onto her side from her back.

-She is very cuddly! When she is sleepy, she will lay on my chest with her cheek on my cheek until she falls asleep.

-She is a sleep fighter! The pacifier works wonders for getting her to sleep.

-She is sleeping through the night! She sleeps from about 10 to 5, sometimes longer.

-She is 13.5 lbs. and 22.5 in. long.

That's all I can think of for now. Ava is the sweetest baby ever, and I couldn't be more in love with her.

Life in the past 6 weeks...

We have had so much going on in the last 6 weeks. Ava is changing everyday! She has started staying awake more and being more interactive. She follows voices, reaches for things around her, and smiles really big! We are so in love with her and are enjoying watching her grow!

I have been having a few medical problems lately and had to have my gallbladder taken out. It was my first time to be put under, so I was nervous. It all went well, and hopefully I'll be back to normal soon.
Two of my very best friends, Ashley and Christie, came to visit us and meet Ava. It was such a good weekend, and I can't wait to have another one with them. Ava loves them already, I'm sure.

This past weekend we went to Jake's graduation at Harding. Ava did great in the car! She slept most of the time. She only woke up to tell us she was hungry, so we stopped and fed her and she went right back to sleep!

We came back Saturday so I could spend my first Mother's Day with my daughter and mom. We went to church, to eat, and then mom and I went shopping! Matt and Ava got me the sweetest card and two new shirts that I am so excited about. I had to wear the same clothes for a long time while I was pregnant, and it feels really good to be able to buy regular clothes again. My first Mother's Day was perfect! I absolutely love being a mommy to the sweetest baby ever. She has brought so much joy to my life, and I know there is only more to come.

This is when she really started smiling at us. We have yet to really be able to catch it on camera, but I'll continue to try until I get one. She has such a beautiful smile!

These two are probably my oldest friends! I love them so much, and really can't wait to see them again!

Ava kept putting her arm like that when Christie would hold her. It was too cute not to get a picture.

Daddy holding Ava at Jake's graduation. She was so cozy!

Uncle Jake, the graduate, holding his neice! We are all so proud of him!

Ava had to have a picture with her Aunt Tasha! She looks so big here!

This is our Mother's Day picture! I love this baby so much! (Notice the spit up on my sleeve!)

Both of these pictures were too sweet, so I had to post both. Ava loves her Grammy so much!

I love my mom so much! She's the best!

She is getting so big! This outfit's size is 3 months!

This is where Ava always is if Pawpaw is around. She's sort of smiling here, but he can also make her smile really big. She loves him too!

I just love every picture of Matt and Ava, so they will probably all be posted. He's such a great daddy!

She's here!

Ava Beth Greer was born March 27th, 2009 at 1:21 A.M. after 19.5 hours of labor and a c-section. She weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces. She was being stubborn and decided not to drop. Everything went great with the surgery, and Ava is perfect. Matt and I are so in love with her and couldn't be happier. It has only been a little over a week, and she is already changing. She is starting to keep her little eyes open for more extended periods of time, and she is looking all around. She makes the funniest noises and faces. We love it when she gets startled and throws her hands in the air and says "egh". There really is nothing like having a baby. We love her so much and would do anything for her.

Update on Ava

I had my 38 week doctor's appointment today!! It went well, although I was a little disappointed. I am dilated 2 centimeters (up from 1.5 last week which is why I was a little disappointed) and 50% effaced still. The doctor still thinks I will have her before my due date and even said it could be anyday now. Next week if I have progressed a little more she wouldn't be opposed to speeding things up! We are really excited that Ava is coming soon, but I am getting tired of waiting! I'm just not patient enough for this. Our bags are packed, and now all we can do is wait on our baby to be ready to enter the world! Hopefully my next post will be pictures of Ava Beth....

Baby Ava's room

After months of collecting, painting, ordering, and putting together.....AVA'S ROOM IS DONE!!
It turned out exactly like I wanted it too, and I didn't do one thing for it! My mom did almost the whole thing by herself. She painted the one wall pink, made the picture frame "thing", refinished the chest and nighstand, put together the bed, and put it all where it is in the room! That is a big job! She made me sit down and watch! My dad and husband also did their share with helping put stuff together! Ava's room is my favorite room in my house now, and I just can't wait to put her in it!

This is the picture frame "thing" that my mom made. It's pictures of Ava's cousins, grandparents, and parents in brown frames with brown and pink scrapbook paper for matting and hung with different brown and pink ribbons.

I put this picture up so you could see the bed and bedding! Julie helped me pick out the bedding, and Adam, Julie, Chad, and Karen got it for us as a gift! I am so excited to have it too!

The glider was a gift from my parents, and my cousin Chasidy painted the ABG picture!

This is where we will rock our sweet baby girl! We can't wait to get to use it!

This is the changing table my wonderful husband put together! He was glad to do it too! He just can't wait to change all those diapers. In fact, it's going to be his first experience with diapers....I'll let you know how that goes! My mom painted, finished, and put the ribbon on the letters. Yes, she is very crafty and talented!

My mom also refinished the drawers on the chest! It was a lot of work! The dolls were my Meme's, and my mom and I just thought she would love to have them in Ava's room. My Meme loved her dolls and I'm glad that Ava can have a piece of her. I can't wait to tell her all about her Meme! Those are headbands hanging from the shelf. (I'm kind of addicted....)

This is a close up of a drawer so you can see the cute knobs we found! The drawer is painted pink with a light brown stain over it and the edges are sanded.
I just have to say "Thank you" to my mom for all of her hard work. I never would have been able to do what she did! Also, to Dad and Matt who helped a lot too! I know Matt is glad it's done, so I will relax a little! Now all we need is a baby to make this room complete!

Baby Shower 2

Baby Shower 2 was a few weeks ago at Betonville Church of Christ. It was so much fun! I was really glad that my Grandma-in-law, Mother-in-law, and Sister-in-law were all able to come up and spend some time with all of us! Matt and I are so blessed to have wonderful people who love us and our baby! Everyone is so excited and just can't wait to kiss her cheeks!

My wonderful Grandma-in-law, Mother-in-law, and Mom! I love them all so much!

One of the many pictures my mom took of me opening presents. I think she took one of me opening every single one! That's why you don't give Moms the camera.

This is one of my best friends, Kyla! We always have fun when we are together!

Kyla, Tasha (Sister-in-law), and Amanda.

Tasha is also one of my favorite people to be around, and I can't wait till we can hang out more often!
